In dem bis zum Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts hochstiftisch-speyerischen Amtsort Kirrweiler bestand eine jüdische Gemeinde bis in die 1920er-Jahre. IhreEntstehunggehtindie Zeit des frühen 17. Jahrhunderts zurück. 1635 sind jüdische Familien aus Kirrweiler genannt, die auf der Flucht vor denkriegerischenWirrendesDreißigjährigen Krieges in Speyer um Schutz nachsuchten. Im 18. Jahrhundert stieg die Zahl der jüdischen Einwohner raschan, sodass 1766derNeubaueiner Synagoge nötig war. Die Gemeinde gehörte zum Bezirksrabbinat Landau. Die Zahl der jüdischen Einwohner ging seitder Mitte des 19.JahrhundertsdurchAb- und Auswanderung so stark zurück, sodass die Gemeinde bereits in den 1920er-Jahren aufgelöst werden musste.Die in Kirrweilernoch lebendenJuden(1928 noch 16) wurden der Gemeinde in Venningen zugeteilt.
