 Rebecca Pimontel [I1373], daughter of Elias De Sousa Pimontel and Flora Mozes Vaz Nunes.Born 9 Feb 1909 (18 Shevat 5669), died 1 Mar 1956 (18 Adar 5716) South-Africa, age 47 years
During WWII she had to wear a Star of David, and was once stopped by the Germans while transporting by bicycle, a bag of potatoes which she had justgotinexchangefrom a farmer for a few litres of paint (her husband was a painter and therefor e had some paint). The Germans threw her in a vanand justasthey wereabout to leave, they ran after a man trying to escape. She took that opportunity to climb out of the van and escape.
Married 1936, age 26 or 27 years (married 19 or 20 years) to:  Johann Peter Letschert [I1375], age by marriage 25 or 26 yearsBorn 10 Mar 1910 (29 Adar I 5670), died 17 Oct 1988 (6 Cheshvan 5749), age 78 years In 1948 and 1949 Johann Letschert and then his wife Rebecca and thier children emigrated to South Africa where they lived in the vicinity of Johannesburg.
